all songs on this album were written by me in 2023 (except things may not get better and masochist written in 2022).

covid-19 is shown to cause organ damage, vascular damage, neurological damage, and immune damage. it is the third leading cause of death in america, and this is based on intentionally and artificially minimized data. it is a novel virus whose long term effects we don't even know.

i wrote these songs, and many more, to cope with the loneliness of feeling like i was the only one who was unable to accept constant mass disease, disability, and death as the new normal. i miss my old life in a million ways--i miss karaoke and house parties and going out to dinner with friends, but i refuse to risk my health and my life to pretend things are different than they are. i don't know how to turn off the part of my brain that cares about myself and my community, and sometimes i feel like i've been left to rot.

i know i'm not the only person who feels this way. if you have been feeling like i have: i see you and i hope this album helps you feel less alone. if you haven't: i know many of us feel hopeless, i know we have been lied to, i know they have told us that there is no other option. but that's not true--we have another way forward. we don't have to let this be our world.
